Tony Liberatore is an award-winning visual storyteller and storyboard artist with over two decades of experience in film and advertising. A 3-time ADG nominee and winner, he has contributed to major blockbuster franchises including Marvel (Captain America, Black Panther, The Eternals, Venom), Fast & Furious, and Bad Boys for Life. His work appears in the Oscar-winning film Argo, and he has collaborated with top directors such as Ryan Coogler, Chloe Zhao, David Fincher, and Ron Howard. Tony began his career in commercial storyboarding, co-founded Dirty Cowboy Productions in 2021, and co-created the docu-webseries Board Lords. He is also a freelance artist for The New York Times.

Tony has partnered with Arcturus Publishing in the U.K. and is currently working on a process book focusing on action sequences and a coloring book titled Fast Cars.
The books will be in stores Summer 2026.
It doesn’t matter whether you're a budding filmmaker or a seasoned storyteller; this course will reveal how big Hollywood blockbuster action scenes are designed. Students will learn to convey mood, tension, and emotion and bring their action narratives to life. Recorded classes are available in addition to a video chat option.
In October 2024, Tony and Spiro Razatos, director of the action sequences for Fast and Furious, Venom, Skull Island, Captain America and many more, appeared on behalf of Drawing American to discuss the film industry and share their decades of knowledge of what role storyboards play in action film making.

Tony Liberatore
3-time ADG award nominee and 1-time winner, Tony is one of the most sought-after visual storytellers working in Hollywood today. He has created storyboard and animatic sequences for some of the most memorable blockbuster action films of the last two decades including work on numerous Marvel franchises including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, both Black Panther movies, The Eternals, Venom, Captain America: Brave New World, and The Thunderbolts. Tony helped design many of the thrilling car chase scenes featured in The Fast and Furious franchise as well as the action tentpole film Bad Boys for Life. Tony started his career in the early 2000's drawing commercial shooting boards for all the major advertising agencies and commercial production companies. Additionally, Tony along with his creative partner George Antzoulides started Dirty Cowboy Productions in 2021. Their docu-webseries Board Lords is dedicated to bringing attention to other visual storytellers. . His artwork can be seen on the screen in the opening montage of the 2012 Academy Award
winning film Argo (see clip above). Tony has had the pleasure of working with many directors including Ryan Coogler, Chloe Zhao, David Fincher, Ron Howard, James Wan and Justin Lin.
Tony is also a freelance artist for the NY Times.
